This one has recently come up on craigslist. I have previously only considered NBs but this seems like it might be a good deal so I'm going to check it out.

Also, through email I have found out that he's owned it for 5 years, the timing belt was done when the turbo was installed at 70k and 2 years ago with help from Mike Feiock (a known drifter?). It also has a viper alarm.

What do you all think about the price and condition of the car, as well as things to look out for?

<<"Serious people only I will go threw the rest of parts this car makes 256 horse an wieghs in at 1859lbs it's very fast!!">>

How did he get the weight so low?

It's a guess, but I think he used the time honored method of bad spelling and lies. You can tell by the super-clean interior he didn't bother to post in the ad. Also, hey! Free laptop with purchase!

Engine bay looks clean though. May be worth a look if you're in the area and want that sort of thing.

I don't believe the part about the weight and also wonder why he doesn't have any pictures hosted online. Isn't that a car guy requirement?

One of the pictures he has sent via email appears to have a roll bar.

If it is as clean as he says it is and appears to be well built, what do you think about the price?

I saw this car pop up as well on CL. You may consider having Shane at AIM Tuning have a look at it before making an offer. The guy definitely needs more pics.

What is the intended use of this car? It sounds like a track rat. Using it as a DD is going to be painful, jarring and annoying. Using it as a track car will be less so. You might even like it. FYI, to get the weight down, I bet the passenger seat has been jettisoned. If you are looking for a 2 seater, I would suspect this will not work.

Expensive for what it is. Worst part is the keywords which is a personal pet peeve of mine.

Send the seller an email and tell him if the cars weights within 50lbs of his stated weight, you'll pay him double the asking price. If it doesn't, he gives you the car for free. Trust me, you'll get a free car. The whole ad starts and ends with "untruths". Is that really who you want to buy a car from?

The car would be a fair weather daily driver. I have a lot of hesitation because of his lack of knowledge about the build (he says his friend did most of the work), misinformation (1859lbs?!), and of course, tags. If it checks out this weekend I may see if Shane at AIM would take a look at it. I haven't dealt with AIM tuning before, but it can't be that unusual of a request, right?

BTW, I flag posts that come up only because my search was tagged in it. That and terrible grammar are my biggest CL pet peeves.

I'm an AIM Tuning customer. Shane is one cool dude to deal with. Shoot him an email at info@aimtuning.com and show him the CL post. If you set up a meet, post about it here. Would love to see how this turns out.
