Summer has arrived with a vengeance in the Southern Tier.
The Elmira and Corning areas remain under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Thursday night with temperatures approaching 100 degrees this week.
One tried and true way to beat the heat? Grab an ice cream cone featuring your favorite flavor at a local establishment.
Here we've gathered dozens of spots to get your favorite ice cream this week and all summer long. While the season has just begun, ice cream shops are already experiencing a high volume of traffic.
